SimpliPhi’s top selling PHI 3.4 and PHI 2.6 kWh batteries have been enhanced to offer greater energy capacity at a lower price and will now be sold as the PHI 3.5 kWh and the PHI 2.7 kWh. In addition to a lower up-front price point, SimpliPhi continues to drive down the levelized cost of storage (LCOS) per kWh delivered over the life of the PHI battery, making it the most competitive LCOS in the industry. SimpliPhi’s proprietary design eliminates ancillary costs associated with the cooling and thermal monitoring required by other industry standard lithium ion batteries that utilize cobalt — a toxic and hazardous chemistry that causes overheating and fires.
Electricity for Jackson, Mississippi Public Schools can be intermittent — with frequent brownouts and fluctuations in low/high voltage. At the same time, like so many schools across the USA, the building infrastructure is aging and often unable to shoulder the load of modern appliances and technology — a vacuum cleaner or floor buffer might inadvertently blow a fuse and take out power for the entire school.
SimpliPhi’s PowerBank provided the ideal solution. With its battery-powered AC generator and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) charged to deliver 5,200 Watt hours of electricity, the PowerBank is a particularly effective solution for schools: 1) it is a self-contained small rolling cabinet meant to be moved from room to room, wherever power is needed; 2) it can be charged by solar, a generator or a wall socket; and 3) it is non-toxic, and does not require ventilation or cooling to protect the performance of the PHI batteries, or student health.
To supply power to Kalaeloa Airport on Oahu’s eight hangar bays for small private aircraft, the airport installed a SimpliPhi + solar microgrid. The 46.08 kW system includes 144 CentroSolar 320W modules, 2 OutBack 9kW FP3 inverters, 11 OutBack FM80 charge controllers and 80 PHI 3.4 kWh batteries — providing critical power for loads and multiple days of energy autonomy.
On April 22, SimpliPhi joined more than a billion people around the world in celebrating Earth Day 2018. SimpliPhi participated in earth day festivities at the EarthX Expo in Dallas, TX, as well as at events in Santa Barbara and Ventura, CA, and donated batteries for the Central Coast Green Building Council BuildSMART trailer and California Solar Electric's Solar Storage Roller trailer.
That said, we’re not satisfied with only one day of action to advance renewable energy and address climate change! As a company proving year after year that valuing the triple bottom line translates to economic growth, we’re continuing everyday to lend our support to global programs focused on putting an end to energy poverty.
