Open positions:

The Sales Application & Technical Support Associate will share responsibility for contributing to and meeting the company’s revenue and growth goals, including monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals by identifying opportunities, developing relationships with installers and integrators by providing technical support and establishing partnerships within specifically defined market segments. The SATSA will assist the SAE team in managing technical support intake and troubleshooting of systems in the field with distributors and installers working with SimpliPhi’s Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) batteries.

The role also involves experience answering a variety of technical questions regarding battery operating parameters, appropriate Balance of System equipment, proper battery wiring, LFP battery chemistry, battery management system functionality and more.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Answer customers’ technical questions regarding company products, via phone and email
  • Assist customers with battery system setup and Balance of System equipment settings
  • Discuss system performance issues and concerns with customers
  • Troubleshoot system issues, coordinating with Tier 2 Tech Support to resolve
  • Collaborate with other equipment manufactures to solve integration issues and better understand potential future issues
  • Track customers’ feedback regarding products and document issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the company’s offered products and product features, as well as the latest Balance of System equipment
  • Recommend to customers appropriate products based on the specific application, outlining products’ capabilities and limitations
  • Recommend to customers appropriate battery system size and overall system design
  • Effectively communicate and educate all prospective and existing customers on the company’s products, solutions and advantage at events, on calls or any written communication
  • Track, manage, update and prioritize leads and opportunities in company CRM to provide information and progress for all internal teams
  • Solicit feedback from external and internal stakeholders on opportunities for product development, quantify opportunities and present to cross functional teams and leadership for prioritization
  • Consistently perform research, request information and identify markets, incentives, policies, electrical code and jurisdiction requirements that align with Company’s product offerings. Identify public and private opportunities to assist in bringing product to market. Clearly communicate opportunities with cross-functional teams and provide project charters and strategic initiatives for approval
  • Understand governmental and regulatory requirements around Lithium Battery technologies and promote safe and non-toxic energy storage solutions
  • Work with advocacy organizations to promote energy storage

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ in a customer facing role in energy storage or other renewable energy technology, in a technical sales role, meeting goals and sales quotas
  • 5+ year professional experience in the renewable energy industry, with preference towards an energy storage specialty
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with solar photovoltaic system design and energy storage required
  • Experience with technical support via phone and email
  • Ability to stay cool under pressure
  • Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems
  • Direct or indirect customer service experience and/or experience talking on the phone with clients required

Position Overview:

The Technical Trainer will be responsible for promoting and educating SimpliPhi Power products in person and over webinar-based trainings and events. This role is considered key in manufacturer/installer relationship building and brand recognition. The role will require experience with public speaking and being able to answer questions and concerns presented in real time. This position in not considered entry level and will require prior knowledge of battery integration into renewable energy systems.

  • Host in person/webinar trainings with installers and distributors
  • Train and onboard new distributors regarding PHI Products
  • Assist in management and organization of IQ training program
    • Evaluate applications
    • Handle scheduling of training opportunities
    • Facilitate follow up with IQ training attendees, and registration to program
    • Update CRM with IQ status
  • Assist in technical support when not training or traveling
  • Provide training module feedback and update when necessary
  • Create new training content for IQ/sales training
  • Gather installer and distributor feedback regarding products for data gathering and R&D purposes
  • Send out NABCEP certificates for installer credit following training
  • Send out follow ups for training and pass off leads to correct SAE

Required Qualifications:

Position Overview:

The Vice-President of Research and Development will provide strategic technology leadership to the Company, with a market-based focus. This position will lead the R&D team in the formulation of and execution on the Company’s technology roadmap, securing our products best-in-class in performance, safety, reliability and interoperability with current and emerging balance of system technologies. This role will have a hands-on roll in the development of new product and feature sets in our suite of energy storage products and systems.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Develop a strategic technology roadmap for the Company and its product lines
  • Lead the R&D team in execution of the technology roadmap
  • Manage development of new products and features sets with an eye on market trends
  • Work cross-functionally with Applications Engineers and Business Development team to analyze market and customer requirements and develop project-specific battery system solutions
  • Represent the Company to partners and clients as a battery storage technical expert

Required Qualifications:

  • BS & master’s in electrical or Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in advanced battery system design
  • In depth knowledge of US and Global energy storage & power markets
  • Understand BMS architecture, design, implementation and testing
  • Mastery of battery module and pack mechanical, electrical and thermal design
  • Experience with project management techniques as well as team development and mentoring
  • In-depth understanding of Li-ion battery fundamentals
  • Deep understanding of renewable energy systems and how batteries interact with the balance of systems, from an electrical, chemical and communications standpoint

The R&D Engineering Technician will be responsible for the running and reporting the testing for evaluation and characterization of PHI products and their subcomponents. This will include preparation of test pieces as required.

As Continuous Improvement Engineer you will work to optimize all manufacturing processes and workflows. Position Overview:

We are looking for an inventory coordinator who is detail-oriented, exceptionally organized, able to manage complex systems, and who has excellent communication, math and analytical skills, and relevant computer software know-how. Inventory coordinators can expect to work with associated documentation, complete tasks alone and in teams, manage multiple inventories, and report to and advise company management. Inventory coordinator is responsible for overseeing the preparation and processing of inventory to ensure that the supplies are readily available. Inventory coordinator is also responsible for making recommendations for restocking inventory as needed and making sure customer orders are filled properly. Additionally, this position is responsible for analyzing and preparing the kits for various sub-assemblies and resolving any inventory issues that may arise. This position will require to compare the actual stock inventory against the records (cycle counting) to ensure that all counts are as accurate as possible. Inventory coordinators also need to complete all work in accordance with company policies and standards.

Successful inventory coordinators should have 3-5 years’ experience in inventory control and must have excellent time-management skills, communication skills, and knowledge in organizational techniques. Ideal candidates will also be able to work extended hours if needed and have experience in building strong working relationships. Ideal candidate should be able to analyze situations and make informed decisions.

  • Meeting supply chain objectives.
  • Managing inventory and filing systems.
  • Performing complete inventory checks of all stock supplies (cycle counting) monthly.
  • Assessing and improving flows of supplies through companies.
  • Ensuring all documentation related to inventory flows is complete, accurate and filed correctly.
  • Identifying, analyzing and addressing gaps in inventory processes.
  • Kitting sub-assemblies per supply chain requirements
  • Running reports and inventory adjustments through MRP/ERP systems
  • Inventory control through managing stock room allocation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Inventory Coordination experience
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree recommended.

The Electromechanical Drafting Engineer will be responsible for preparation and modification of technical drawings both electrical (e.g. single line drawings) and mechanical (e.g. 3D models) in nature. This will be in support of sales projects, new product development, and continuous improvement.

  • Work with the engineering team to develop new products and improvements for existing products
  • Work with manufacturing as directed when needed to support production in process improvements and documentation

  • Employ software tools (e.g. Solidworks and AutCAD) in your engineering tasks and duties
  • Generate technical drawings and 3D models including (but not limited to):

  • Build energy storage systems to customer specifications
  • Assemble varied electronic products, consistently meeting quality standards
  • Perform in-process and final assembly processes including soldering, inspections and report potential defects or quality issues to shift leader or manager
  • Foster a high-performing team environment through daily communication with supervisor and colleagues in all manufacturing areas
  • Work with manufacturing team to meet production schedules, including overtime as required by production needs
  • Provide regular feedback to management regarding potential product and assembly process improvements
  • Effectively manage time to meet short and long term objectives
  • Comply with all company policies and programs, to include those regarding ethics, conduct, safety, security, ISO, and continuous improvement
  • Assist in root cause analysis of field failures

  • Ensure that the QMS conforms to ISO 9001, internal, customer, and legal/regulatory requirements

  • Mentor the SimpliPhi team in the effective implementation of an ISO 9001 compliant QMS
  • Ensure vendor quality systems are effectively evaluated and meet SimpliPhi’s quality requirements
  • Manage calibration system and inspection/verification/calibration of associated equipment
  • Conduct and direct internal audits
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS
